Ashley holds a BFA in Modern Dance and an MEd in Counselor Education and is currently working towards an MFA in Dance. She is a pilates instructor at Alpha State Life and works as a program consultant for the Young Women Leaders Program at the University of Virginia and as a GRA at the Advanced Computing Center for the Arts and Design. Ashley began practicing vinyasa yoga in 2001 and it has reshaped her understanding of being.

This active, flow-based yoga class builds strength, endurance, and flexibility. This class requires a moderate to high fitness level. A yoga mat is required.

Improvisation and Aesthetics Workshop
July 8 &9, 12:30-3:00pm

This two-day workshop will explore methods of exploration and reflection to access movement in the body. The workshop will use physical experiences, writing, and guided group discussions to investigate the process and outcomes of improvisation.

Pilates Reformer Lessons

Experience the specificity and satisfaction of working the body in an integrated and aware fashion on the pilates reformer. Sessions focus on the specific needs of the client: ranging from a workout emphasizing endurance and balance to a session emphasizing relearning movement behaviors in a specific muscle group.

Access physical strength and mental focus in four two-hour yoga classes. These classes will be designed for the dancer's body and mind, emphasizing use of the breath, working at one's personal potential, and restoring balance in the body.
