A Columbus, Ohio native, Erin
Tisdale began studying Irish dance at an early age with the Richens-Timm
Academy of Irish Dance. Her interest in other dance forms brought her
to study at Kent State University where she received a BFA in Dance Education
and Dance Performance, and was also introduced to movement notation. She
is currently finishing her MFA at The Ohio State University, concentrating
in Dance Documentation and how digital media utilized to preserve dance
as an art form. This summer she has received a fellowship from the Dance
Heritage Coalition to assemble the archives for The Ohio State University
Dance Department, and will travel to Limerick, Ireland to present her
research at the Dance Research Forum Ireland Conference.
