project. :03 minute portions | mfa performance As a life-long advocate for the art form of dance, the emergence of Robin's research in audience accessibility was a natural progression in her continuous endeavors to support and maintain the field at large. For her MFA project, she chose to address building audiences for dance in the roles of performer and producer/curator. With accessibility at the core of her research, her project is framed around economic, geographic, cultural and aesthetic issues of accessibility in audience development. In line with her research, as a performer Robin chose to commission a dance work by New York -based choreographer Larry Keigwin, who shares the same value system of reaching and engaging new dance audiences. Originally choreographed for Keigwin's company in 2000, Straight Duet has been performed in a variety of locations from traditional dance performance venues, night clubs, benefit events for AIDS, breast cancer and Hillary Clinton to outdoor venues. Knowing the choreography was designed to be accessible to a wide range of audiences, the work is a strong match for her research. ... Thanks to my Project Committee
