straight duet
choreography by larry keigwin
performance by robin anderson & patrick mueller

Straight Duet will be performed by MFA candidates Robin Anderson and Patrick Mueller. Originally choreographed and performed in 2000 by New York-based choreographer Larry Keigwin and dancer Nicole Wolcott, the duet embodies the physicalization of a bride and groom's individual emotional journeys on their wedding day. Beginning with solos by the female and male dancers in wedding attire, the dance progresses to innovative partnering on and around a mattress in undergarments. Danced to Cecelia Bartoli's renditions of Vivaldi, Scarlatti and Giordani. Straight Duet was taught to Robin and Patrick during Keigwin and Wolcott's three-week residency in the Department of Dance in October 2005.
